  • What to expect in my initial consultation?
    Your initial consultation is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we get to know each other. It's a chance for you to share what's been going on for you, what you'd like support with, and what you'd love to change or feel differently about. I'll explain how Solution Focused Hypnotherapy works, answer any questions that you have, and outline how we can work together. There's no hypnosis in this session. It's purely about understanding your goals, building trust, and making sure that you feel confident and comfortable moving forward. You'll leave with a clearer understanding of how hypnotherapy can help you and a free audio relaxation track to start your journey at home. The cost of the session will be deducted from any further therapy so it will be free if you decide to continue with hypnotherapy.
  • What can I expect in a hypnotherapy session?
    Each session is gentle, structured, and focused entirely on helping you move forward. We begin with Solution Focused Brief Therapy (a form of psychotherapy) which is a positive conversation, looking at what's gone well for you recently and on the changes that you'd like to see in your life. This helps train the brain to focus on progress and possibilities. Next, I'll guide you into a deeply relaxed state using soothing language and calming visualisation techniques. You'll remain fully in control, just like being in a daydream. While you're in this restful state, we reinforce your goals and support your subconscious mind in making positive changes. You'll leave feeling calmer, clearer, and more confident. Each session will build on the last to create lasting transformation.
  • Will I lose control during hypnosis? Could I get stuck in trance?
    Absolutely not. You remain completely in control the whole time. Hypnosis is a natural, deeply relaxed state of focused attention, like daydreaming. You can speak, move, or stop at any time. You will never do or say anything that you don't want to and you will come out of trance as soon as you want to. It's like coming out of a daydream.
  • Is it like stage hypnosis? I'm worried I'll do something silly.
    Stage hypnosis is for entertainment. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is healing. Hypnotherapy is professional, safe, and rooted in science. It's focused on helping you reach your goals with clarity and calm.
  • Isn't it too expensive? I'm not sure that I can justify the cost.
    Think of it as an investment in lifelong emotional wellbeing. Many people spend money on short breaks or retail therapy, hoping to feel better but the feeling doesn't last. Hypnotherapy offers real, lasting change that can help you feel better every single day, not just for a weekend.
  • Will hypnotherapy take away my defences and leave me vulnerable?
    Not at all. Hypnotherapy doesn't strip away your defences, it helps you to update them. The coping patterns you have developed were there to protect you, but they may no longer serve you today and could be causing you issues in your life. Hypnotherapy helps you to respond to challenges like the best version of yourself, calm, confident, and in control.
  • Do I just attend my appointments and you will 'fix' me?
    Hypnotherapy is a partnership and requires you to actively participate. Your transformation will be faster and more effective when you actively take part in the process, including doing the gentle mindset work between sessions. I'll guide you every step of the way, but your growth is co-created.
  • Can hypnotherapy get rid of trauma, anxiety or depression in one or two sessions?
    While it can feel powerful and immediate, hypnotherapy isn't a magic fix. It works at a deep subconscious level to rewire unhelpful patterns and feelings. Though lasting change takes time, many people feel significantly better within just a few weeks, often more than they have in years.
  • Why would I choose hypnotherapy over just talking to friends or family?
    Talking to friends is lovely and can be massively helpful - but it's not therapy. Hypnotherapy goes deeper. It helps to change long-standing thought patterns and emotional habits at a subconscious level. It's not just about insight, it's about transformation.
